My son and I were in the car this weekend and we were playing the ‘Grateful Game’… we’d take turns going back and forth saying “I’m grateful for _____ “. Colby had some good and funny ones including his dad, his sister, and Michael Jackson (his favorite singer right now!). One of mine was “I’m grateful for being under chiropractic care”. I didn’t think about it much at the time, but afterward I got to thinking… how really grateful I am for it.

Let me share this story with you…

A few months ago, I was sitting with a new patient and we were chatting. She was a mother of two young kids, working mom, liked to do yoga and be outdoors. We had a lot in common, and swapped toddler temper-tantrum stories. You know, like moms do.

Then we got deeper into her health history. The primary reason she’d come in was her struggle with anxiety. It had started slowly, and just kept creeping in on her. She said sleep was a huge issue for her because her mind just wouldn’t shut off. It was common for her to be up doing dishes at 3 am, because trying to go to sleep was so frustrating. Her anxiety was affecting her sleep, her energy levels, her relationship with her kids and her husband, and her work. She wasn’t able to ‘feel good’ and have energy to keep up with her kids and she had tremendous guilt about that.

I sat there for what I’m sure felt like an awkwardly long pause. Because it hit me. This would have been me if not for chiropractic care. I was headed down that path already. My sleep is easily affected and generally, when I do need adjusted, I can tell because anxiety starts creeping in.

I’m extremely thankful for the sleep, the peaceful mind, and the energy that chiropractic care has given me, and more so – how I can be a better mom, wife, and human being because of it.

So, if you know me – you might know I don’t share personal stories like this much. Ok, not really at all.

But, the reason I wanted to share it with you – maybe this sounds like you or someone you know and they didn’t even KNOW this was an option. They didn’t KNOW there was hope to feel better and feel more like themselves.
