I have to tell you, these kids are my world.  I mean, truly, deeply the most amazing, unconditional love for them-  check out this pic of one of our summer adventures at the Zoo- oh Claire, can’t you see the uniqueness in each of their personalities!?  Ha!

Over the past year I have really committed to being super selective on my work travel.  I just don’t want to miss any experiences with them, especially after a couple years of intense travel as we were continuing our chiropractic neurological studies and I was completing the Academy of Chiropractic Philosophers program.  I was away SO much and I vowed to slow down once the certifications were complete.

So you can imagine it would take a pretty BIG mission to pull me away… That mission is the ability to serve thousands of people in San Salvador, El Salvador next week for my 6th Chiropractic Outreach trip. To give to a community of people who are often scared for their safety-  living in one of the most dangerous cities in the world, hoping that their health can improve. A community of people that have stress beyond what we could hardly comprehend. Citizens that I have grown to know well and look forward to seeing again- Medical doctors who support our work, give us their space for the week and will greet us with hugs.

We have the most amazing ‘Host’- His name is Ernesto and he is like a big teddy bear!!  He gives his time for a week to drive and shuttle us wherever we need to go; always making us feel safe. We may not be able to communicate well, but we are always so excited to see each other and his big hug always speaks volumes. Each service trip deepens my compassion for humanity, humbles me beyond belief at what is important in life and gives me pure joy for impacting lives as I watch tears of joy stream down someone’s face as they thank us for taking care of them. These trips make me who I am and are now a part of me… and I can’t wait to share stories!!  Stay tuned! Dr. Niki
